Our mission
is to allow others to see and hear evidence of a life in Christ Jesus,
and through Biblical truths and exhortation, to lead them to His Saving
Grace.
1 John
1:3 - What we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, so that you
too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the
Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ.
Acts 4:20
- For we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.
Years ago, I got the news of
a “dream-come-true.” I had been awarded a recording contract
and distribution deal for my recorded songs. “Local girl makes
it big,” and the reports were all over the local news media.
Folks joined in my celebration everywhere I went, and I could hardly
contain my joy. Even strangers wrote and called to congratulate
me. But before long, the “dream” turned out to be a nightmare
of the music industry with strings attached and hidden legal vernacular
that would have left me with no control over my schedule, songs or profit.
I came back down to earth and painstakingly learned to manage my own
career in order to keep my priorities of being wife and mother in order.
I consider this past experience
as I now carry indescribable, undeniable joy over what Jesus has done
for me. But sadly, the fact of my life being rescued and having
received the promise of heaven hasn’t been met with the same enthusiasm
as was the news of my record contract. In fact, some think I’ve
gone off the deep end, and even some church people wish I would tone
it down a little. But one might as well ask me to be a potted
plant than to keep me from proclaiming and sharing the Good News.
And you may as well ask me to pass by a drowning person without offering
them the life-line that I had in my possession. “For we cannot
keep from speaking about what we have seen and heard..” (Acts
4:20).
I encourage you in your faithfulness
in hearing God’s call. Through the working of the Holy Spirit,
I am committed to hearing God’s call in my role in “equipping the
saints to equip the saints to equip the saints, and so on . . .”
